Types of property surveys and valuations offered in Spain, Portugal and Italy
In the USA and some other countries, residential surveyors are often referred to as Home Inspectors or Home Surveyors, although the more usual term in Europe is that of Building Surveyor or Chartered Surveyor. Home surveys is one of the most solicited services that we offer.
Once you have paid a deposit for buying a property in Spain, Portugal or Italy, you could lose the deposit if you decide to back out of the transaction, even if the property has defects. Therefore it is far better to arrange an independent property survey before you pay any money upfront.
Villa Surveyors offer various types of property report and valuation in Spain, Portugal and Italy depending on the prospective purchasers’ needs. Most buyers opt for a General Condition Report but sometimes a Building Survey is more appropriate.
A valuation report is often required by mortgage lenders or lawyers and courts for expert witness cases, but not normally by prospective homebuyers.
