Villa Surveyors is an independent network coordinating building surveys, snagging reports, and property consultancy instructions throughout Southern Europe. We work with a trusted network of local professionals — including architects, engineers, and Chartered Surveyors — selected for their expertise and local insight. Our mission is to provide clear, independent advice in English, helping international buyers make informed decisions when purchasing property abroad.

Villa Surveyors was started in 2018 by Stan Dickens, a UK-trained independent Chartered Surveyor and RICS Registered Valuer. Stan has over 40 years experience of undertaking property searches, transactions, building surveys, snagging surveys, and valuations of investment, commercial and residential property. Since 1989, he has worked extensively across Spain, Portugal, and Italy, and is fluent in Spanish with working knowledge of Portuguese and Italian.

Stan, who oversees Villa Surveyors and ensures the highest professional standards, is the former Chairman of RICS Spain and founding director of the Real Estate Company Management Executive Programme at Instituto de Empresa (IE) in Madrid. He has also lectured on valuation, ethics, and best practices at IE Business School and the European University.

We bought a house in Aranjuez, the house its a little old so we hired Stan to come to have a look.
He was puntual, professional and very nice.
He was there as long as it took him to evaluate the big house, he did not leave a spot without checking, the report was extremely complete.
